Works In Progress – Tapestry

The big one!

This was bought to cover a fireplace at home which was shut off. We have since re-decorated and the fireplace is now opened up and looks amazing. But I love this piece with my whole heart. I have run out of the background colour so it is slightly hibernating at the moment.

The small one!

Well the tapestry part of this is finished, I just don’t quite know what to do with it. I think it may be destined to be a cushion cover, but have not got the material to surround it at the moment.

Works in progress – Cross stitch

Rupert

A rather massive Cross stitch of a portrait which hangs in the National Gallery. I have been doing this on and off for the last 8 years.

Scissor Keeper

A small project, bought as part of a group which I have mostly used as Holiday and travelling projects. But haven’t really been away since I started this one.

Works In Progress – Knitting

So this is a quick post I am very good at keeping knitted projects under control, in that I don’t really do very many of them and it is definately only one at a  time with them.

Cardigan

Long sleeved quite simple, but all mine (I seem to give away most of my crochet projects). It really is about completing it mostly. The yarn was a Black Sheep special at a Stitches show I attended recently.

I have to say I really like this yarn, it has a slightly heathery quality and I’m very pleased to say that I have another batch in Navy too!

Works in progress – Crochet

So lets start with what I am making with my favourite craft, also the one I am quickest at !

The Bedspread!

So Christmas 2010 I decided that my family deserved some form of blanket as a gift, I duly started and have yet to finish my Sister and Brother-in-laws Super King sized bed spread. There is an end in sight but it is not quite there yet but I will finish it this year!

Berry Hats

This is the cutest pattern and I keep one started for any babies that pop up and need a gift!

Capelet

I have fallen out of love with this big style, and I don’t really know why. It may have something to do with the amount of ends I will have to weave in at the end!

Waistcoat

Just finishing on this, slightly random garment that I have made, had an image in my mind when making it without a pattern that never quite translated. I think it may be due to a mis-match in yarn used but never mind I’m not so disappointed with it that I won’t finish it or indeed wear it.

Introductions

Hi I’m Alice, and I craft!

Its a long story and starts with a Grandmother and Mother who could and can do everything, (OK with my Mother it is mostly when she can be bothered but she still knows how!). Add in a childhood of Brownies and Girl Guides, who do love teaching a new craft and you have a gigantic overexposure to sooo many different crafts its hard to keep track.

I mainly Crochet, Knit and sew at the moment. This makes me sound very productive doesn’t it but I’m not really. I plan to show you all completed projects, in progress reports and other bits and bobs. Particularly this year as I intend to be much more productive and learn a whole lot more if I can.

So here goes.
